PRP is harvested from your own blood cells (platelets). These cells are concentrated to give higher amounts of growth factors. The suspension is reapplied to areas of concern, including facial, & scalp tissue. This stimulates collagen production & growth of target tissue.
What does PRP treat?
PRP has the potential to address the following conditions:
– Reduction in wrinkles & lines such as crow¡¯s feet, lip lines & smile lines
– Improvement of under eye volume loss, skin laxity & dark circles
– Loss of elasticity & sagging skin on the face & neck
– Improvement in skin tone, complexion & texture
– Rejuvenation of the neck & dšŠcolletage
– Improvements in photoaged hands
– Hair regeneration and regrowth
– Skin tightening
What does PRP treatment involve?
The process of administering PRP is relatively straightforward and typically involves the following steps:
- Blood Draw: A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient¡¯s arm using a sterile technique.
- Centrifugation: The collected blood sample is placed in a specialised centrifuge, where it undergoes a process of separation. During centrifugation, the blood separates into distinct layers, with the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) forming a concentrated layer.
- PRP Preparation: The PRP layer is carefully extracted and may be combined with additional substances, such as vitamins or growth factors, depending on the specific treatment protocol.
- Topical Application or Injection: The prepared PRP serum is then either applied topically with microneedling to the desired treatment areas or injected into the skin using a fine needle.
- Post-Treatment Care: After the procedure, patients may experience mild swelling, redness, or bruising, which typically subsides within a few days. Proper aftercare instructions are provided to ensure optimal healing and results.
How many sessions do I need?
3-4 treatments are recommended, 4 weeks apart. Followed by maintenance treatments every 3 to 6 months.
Treatment results vary depending on your body¡¯s metabolism.
How long does it take to see results?
On average, it takes about 2 šC 3 weeks after microneedling for patients to see visible improvements in their skin. After 4 šC 6 weeks, a marked improvement should be able to be seen. However, this depends largely on an individual patient¡¯s skin condition and the severity of his or her complaints.
Initial improvements may be visible within the first 3 months, with further progress over 6 months.
What is the downtime for PRP?
Patients can usually resume normal activities soon after treatment.
After the procedure the treated area can be tender and swollen. This may last a few hours to a few days
Cost 1 session $429, 3 sessions 1199, 5 sessions $1,999)
